As far as Linux distributions go, Ubuntu is by far the most user-friendly and mainstream. Geez...Can't they think of new colors to put on their default background?? The orange, brown and purple hue of the desktop background is hideous--and it makes the icons on the Unity launcher look pixilated and cheap. Everything else on the interface is excellent including the same rock solid stability and security you would expect from Linux.
I made a mistake purchasing this software. I should have master the command line first. Migrating Ubuntu with r2 foundation didn't look good in disk management.
I have pretty much always used Windows, then I discovered the various Linux distros. Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Linux Mint,Fedora etc... They are great operating systems, they tend to be fast solid operating systems, benchmark results tend to be better than a windows based system. The great thing about them are they are all free to download and install. Don't want to install it no problem they allow you to try each one by running it from a cd or flash drive. I do suggest you use the Windows installer that is offered ..
