These do work as advertised, but you must be aware that if the seal on the individual package is broken, exposing the wet fire tinder to the air for too long, it will not burn at all. I have crumbled them and started them with a spark, I have burned them floating in water. After being in my backpack for several months the seal became broken on most of them and they would not light. These work very well, and they are a good addition to your emergency kits or general camping supplies. However, I only gave it four stars because of the cost. It's much, much cheaper to just make your own PET balls (google it) or use pieces of jute twine soaked in canning wax (my personal favorite). Anyway, if you don't have a problem with the cost, Wetfire is a good choice in that it's dependable and works very well.
