It's always been hard to determine exactly what musical direction the boys will take next, but their Daisies of the Galaxy shows up with a deceptively sugary, pared-down set of tunes. The two 'daisy' songs - the title track and A Daisy through Concrete - are among the album's finest moments. Featuring sonic reinforcement from Grant Lee Phillips and R.E.M.'s Peter Buck, this is an interesting change of pace for the Eels.
