Simply put, this is a very cheap, very horribly designed and built adapter. Spend the extra money on a universal adapter that has a warranty. I bought to plug my computer into outlets while traveling in Australia. The first night it was ever used, it shorted out the power to our room and 3 others on the hall in the hotel (Intercontinental Sydney). I WOULD AVOID THIS PRODUCT. This US to Australia three prong adapter will NOT accept a standard US two blade polarized plug. FYI, that is the standard plug where the left side neutral blade is slightly bigger than the right side blade. Just about every US wall outlet made in the last forty years is designed to accept polarized plugs, but not this adapter. I got the adapters and one of them seemed slightly odd. it looked like it wasn't cut correctly (The prongs were slightly jagged and longer than the other one.) I tried to stick with the first one (which looked normal) but was forced to use the weird one when both my Laptop and Cell Phone needed to be charged. Upon plugging the weird one in, there was a big spark and the outlet started smoking. Now the outlet does not work. I would try buying from another seller.
