This is a step up from Ghosts in terms of offline couch-competition. A lot of nice features in the offline multiplayer. The only drawback is that when we want to set up a competition between us and a large number of AIs, this game falters in that they cut the number of possible AIs to compete against. You can only have a max of 6 players on the opposing side in multiplayer. Aside from that detail, it's a new level of configurability for weapons and maps.
