Jon Lovitz plays teacher Richard Clark at a school where the kids in this urban institution, including Mekhi Phifer as Griff McReynolds, are unruly and carefree. In the end, Lovitz's character wins the students' respect and approval; whether this is realistic or not is debatable. High School High piles on the goofy humour and sight gags, including a well-intentioned nurse stapling condoms to pamphlets about safe sex. Like the 1999 black comedy Election, this movie humanizes teachers while making viewers howl.
