I like Peachtree and it's an excellent accounting software. Maybe not as simple as Quickbooks, but I think it's more robust. Since it's not the standard anymore it doesn't interact with as many 3rd party products or credit card processing as Quickbooks. I just got my upgrade notice to go from 2010 to 2012 for the "discounted price" price of $224 from Sage, but as you can see you can buy it from Amazon for $149.
The product and support is good, just expensive. Sage Peachtree pushes for upgrade every year, but actually you only need to upgrade every three years; they just don't tell you. I know because I've been using Peachtree for the last 16 years. If you want good support you need to purchase support every year which can be less expensive than upgrade.
