Archery sets can be expensive, especially when purchasing for a youngster who has an interest but may or may not truly pursue it. As a fairly experienced archer, I'm a reasonable judge of quality. I think this bow is great for a beginner; not too stiff but not all flimsy or mushy either. The bow comes with all the necessary accessories, so an enthusiastic young archer can start to use it right away and not have to wait until anything else is purchased.
