I have owned this vise for over two years and have used it in a variety of situations. It is a strong well made and dependable vise.

pay no attention to the second review on this item he was obviously talking about a different vise. I am a certified mechanic and have used Wilton vise's in just about every dealership that I have worked for and if they can stand up to that type of daily use that is what I wanted for my work shop. Granted this is not the largest vise but it is the perfect size for a home project vise. It is extremely well made and to address the negative comment on the "loose base" it is not loose it is adjustable (swivels)..

Have had many vises over the years including some excellent Wilton USA made models. This import is not even comparable to the vises of 30-40 years ago but is serviceable and not a bad buy. I use it in my garage for small lightweight projects. Clamps tightly and is pretty solid. Good hobby size. Not a vise for professional use.
