I normally use Electronic Howard Leight muffs, but they are hot in the heat and when I shoot rifle or shotgun, they come off the ear, so I have to double up. I was really skeptical that these would work as advertised, The key is getting the proper alignment to the ear canal. I wear them about 20 Deg forward of normal and they really silence loud firearms. They actually work better for conversations, as you can talk to someone while someone else is shooting nearby..
