Tougher- Made with a special Cobalt alloy of M35 steel, they can be used on hard or abrasive materials like stainless steel and space age alloys * Stronger- Extra thick drill core adds rigidity and strength * Makes life easier with a 135 degree split tip to eliminate "skating" * Three flats on bits 3/16-Inch and larger give the drill chuck a stronger grip on the bit, especially useful in harder materials * Because of the Cobalt bit's longevity, they are an excellent value
I bought these bits after trying (unsuccessfully) to drill through a stainless steel door with "regular" steel drill bits. Imagine my annoyance when the drill I was using just ground down the bit tip and dulled it to uselessness. So then I bought these bits. I was very happy to see these bits chew right through the steel door in a way my other bits failed to do.If you need to drill through steel, these are the bits to use.Recommended!
I've owned lots of different drill bit sets, including poor quality cheap ones, HSS, titanium-coated, and cobalt. It's easy to get confused with so many things on offer. These Mibros are my favorite, and top other cobalt bits, including the Bosch set (I have them also) for two reasons. Let me explain why.First, a discussion of drill bits in general. Bits simply labeled HSS (high speed steel) are great for wood and soft metals, but eventually get dull, even in wood if you use them a lot. Titanium coated--wel..
