I bought this because I was looking for something with a larger storage capacity than my other Kingston Data Traveler (4 gb) to carry personal files with me and still have room to transfer larger files from computer to computer. I was sold on the idea of having portable apps built into the flash-drive, however, I was disappointed to find that this would not work out of the box for me without a Microsoft dot net platform. I reformatted the drive to wipe all the pre-installed files off of it and installed free and open source "Portable Apps v1.6.1.0" ... which solved the problem for me.
The metal guard is a nice idea but could have been made better. The keychain loop is small, as others have noted, and if you put a smaller ring on it to attach it to your regular keyring or lanyard-- the guard will not swivel to a complete 180 degree position for plugging into your computer (it's skewed and looks awkward when plugged in this way, and if you have another USB port next to it...Read more
