Writer/director Joshua Michael Stern (NEVERWAS) tackles American politics in his second feature film. Bud Johnson (Kevin Costner) is just your below-average Joe. He works in an egg factory, likes to knock back a few too many beers, and is a single parent to 12-year old Molly (Madeline Carroll), a bright spitfire who does her best to keep her dad on the straight and narrow. Patriotic Molly insists that apathetic Bud do his civic duty and vote in the upcoming presidential election, a tight race between Republican incumbent Andrew Boone (Kelsey Grammer) and Democratic candidate Donald Greenleaf (Dennis Hopper). Soon the media and both candidates descend upon Bud's hometown of Texico, New Mexico, when it's determined that his vote wasn't counted and will decide the outcome of the entire presidential election. Now that Bud is a 'somebody'--there's even a 'Bud Cam' capturing his every move--will he be swayed by visits to Air Force One and the 'Bud Ball' held in his honour, or will he be the voice of the American people and vote for the better candidate?The lengths the candidates go to in order to win Bud's vote are high points of the film, as they find themselves supporting initiatives that are completely opposed to their platforms at the urging of their campaign managers, played by Stanley Tucci and Nathan Lane. Grammer is well cast as Boone, and it's a hoot to see counterculture icon Hopper in this light. Costner makes Bud likable despite the loser stereotype he personifies. But this film belongs to Carroll, a lovely young actress who can steal a scene with one look. If nothing else, SWING VOTE is a reminder that even though politics may be a game, every single vote really does count.

Meet the Invisible ManBrand new detectives Bud Alexander (Bud Abbott) and Lou Francis (Lou Costello) agree to help prize fighter Tommy Nelson (Arthur Franz) prove he didn't kill his manager. Tommy decides to become invisible to track down the killer by taking a serum injection, and then takes Bud and Lou to the gym where Morgan (Sheldon Leonard), his crooked manager who wanted Tommy to take a dive, hangs out. Tommy prods Bud into introducing Lou as a fighter and then succeeds in proving Lou's abilities by throwing the punches for him. This prompts Morgan to offer Lou a fight that Tommy hopes will be able to prove Morgan's responsibility for his manager's death. Go To MarsAbbott and Costello zoom into outer space and disrupt everything in sight in this parody of science fiction films! While helping to load a rocket ship, Lester ( Bud Abbott) and Orville (Lou Costello) accidentally hit the starter button and take off. Aided by special effects, they fly around skyscrapers, through the Holland Tunnel, and on to New Orleans where the locals' Mardi Gras costumes convince them they've landed o mars. Another accidental launch really does take them into space and onto the planet Venus. The place is loaded with pretty girls (including Miss Universe contestants from earth) and the Queen (Marie Blanchard), who banished men 400 years ago because her husband was unfaithful. As always, the perfect straight man and the perfect buffoon turn the unexpected and the ludicrous into delight.

It transpires that the missing crates contained the remains of Count Dracula (Bela Lugosi) and Frankenstein's monster (Glenn Strange). The crates have now been diverted to the island hideaway of a crazed scientist who wishes to revive the ghouls. The inept duo head off to the island to avert disaster the arrival of the Wolfman (Lon Chaney Jr) complicates matters further. Friends Pete (Abbott) and Freddie (Costello) are in Egypt when they offer to help archaeologist Dr Gustav Zoomer transport his newly-discovered mummy back to America. However upon arrival at Zoomer's house the duo discover that the doctor has been murdered and the mummy vanished. Their problems increase when the men inherit a medallion which carries an ancient curse and they soon find themselves doing battle with villainous treasure seekers while struggling to keep the mummy's existence under wraps! Abbott and Costello In The Foreign LegionIn 'The Foreign Legion' (1950) sees wrestling promoters Jonesy (Abbot) and Lou (Costello) arrive in Arabia looking for their absconded star attraction Wee Willie Davis. Instead of finding him though they manage to get themselves signed up for the French Foreign Legion. The duo's bumbling attempts to make good as soldiers don't get them very far and matters aren't helped by Lou's regular and bizarre mirage sightings. The trouble really begins however when they uncover a plot between their superior officer (Walter Slezak) and the evil Sheik Hamud El Khalid (Douglas Dumbrille). Abbott and Costello Meet the Keystone KopsIn 'Abbott and Costello Meet the Keystone Cops' (1955) Bud and Lou revisit the golden days of silent film. The year is 1914 and pals Harry (Abbott) and Willis (Costello) find employment in Hollywood after being tricked into investing in a dud studio by a conman. The duo end up working with the Mack Sennett group and the famous Keystone Cops (played here not by the originals but by a group of actors specifically trained by Sennett for the film).
