A 10-gun brig and survey ship, HMS Beagle became famous for its survey voyages under Commander Robert Fitzroy. The ship sailed to some of the most desolate places on earth, mapping the coastlines and passages to make these areas much safer for all future shipping. Despite her fame, specific plans do not exist. However, the author has researched the three different ages of the Beagle to Jaw accurate plans and build his own scale model. His research, photographs, and plans are now available to bring HMS Beagle nearer to the heart of modelmakers and ship historians and to restore her to her rightfully earned place in the parthenon of ships.
