Spector added overdubs and polished production, bringing his famous Wall of Sound to what was meant to be a stripped-down tribute to rock 'n' roll. Last year, the two surviving Beatles collected the tapes and had the album remastered and remixed as originally intended. While two tracks have been cut (Dig It and Maggie Mae), the new version adds a previously unreleased version of Don't Let Me Down and an alternate take of the classic The Long and Winding Road. Now we can hear the album as it was originally envisioned: intimate, full of warmth, and de-Spectorized. This edition also includes a 20-minute bonus disc of studio outtakes and conversations.
