Age range: 8 and up / Number of players: 2 to 5 / Play time: 30 to 45 minutes The game represents the famous 1672 pirate-led jailbreak from the fortress of Cartagena. It is said that a game celebrating the great escape became popular in the pirate coves of the Caribbean. Each player has a group of 6 pirates and his objective is to have all 6 escape through the tortuous underground passage that connects the fortress to the port, where a sloop is waiting for them.
This is a good strategy game - simple to learn and god for a lot of ages. It has some similarities with checkers. But it doesn't compare with the games of Ticket To Ride or Carcasonne which we were trying to supplement. We've put it away for awhile but will get it out again.
I bought this game as a gift (we already have it) - it's very hard to find this game. It's great board game for all ages - simple enough, but is played over and over again in my family and with our friends. Highly recommended.
