We were very disappointed with this cargo carrier. It tore on our first trip; apparently because it was not completely full.According to the instructions, the carrier should only be used if it is completely full. If it is not full, the warranty does not protect against any damage caused by the wind. The instructions specifically state:IMPORTANT: Pack the carrier full so that the sides are pulled tight. We purchased the Packright Sport 3 for a family trip.We needed more interior room and it gave us that.We were able to pack all our soft luggage and then some for a 5 day trip.We did hit some severe rain storms along the way and anything that was nearthe seams did get damp.I would suggest the waterproof liner if you need waterproof.I think I will just use the heavy duty trash bags offered at home improvement storesfor our next journey.We were quite happy with the extra room inside the car!
Moved from Tampa,FL to Houlton,ME.Pros: You can fit a ton of luggage in this thing. Left me with lots of room in my Durango. I filled this thing up with 6 large suitcases, filled it til it could barely zip up. Never had a problem with the load shifting once it was strapped in and loaded. I did however have to tighten the straps up every time I stopped for gas, not very much but it did loosen up a little bit.
