The only case where the connection worked is when I connected it with an IDE hard drive on both Vista and XP. No other connection worked. I noticed a burning smell in the SATA power cord connection area immediately when I connected it with two SATA hard drives to recover files from, so I was out of luck. The BrilliantStore sent me a replacement free of charge, but the power supply adapter does not work. My laptop died and I wanted to transfer my data to a new computer. Typical situation. This did the trick quickly and cheaply. Worked perfect.The one thing I will say is that I wasn't sure if the connector would fit my harddrive. I realized that there was some sort of adapter that was on my HP harddrive. I simply just took it off and it fit perfectly.Bottom Line: Its cheap, and it works. Buy it.
This product works with about 30 percent of my drives regardless of where the jumpers are set. No documentation with this unit so take care to plug it in correctly. Email to seller not answered. If you want something like this unit, pay a little extra and get a better one.
