this is the second one I have purchased, it is very well manufactured, has a bale handle, 7 to 170 hours of use and uses 2 or 4 leds that are dim able, and since it is a lithium battery it stays charged for months, mfg got it right on this - its very nice, just a little taller than a normal prescription container. even on its lowest setting 170 there is enough light to walk around a pitch black house but not read comfortably from. Used it on a float trip last weekend. I was pleased and amazed by the brightness and versatility of it. Flashlight mode works well, as does the lantern mode. I like the fact you can turn on one side of the lantern to throw light away from my own eyes, and light up where I am walking. This is light and useful enough it has now replaced my backpacking flashlight.
The good:- The dim 500 hour setting is actually usable - comparable to a tea light candle (not great for reading, but will keep you from bumping in to things)- The magnet is so good, I can stick it to a round door knob with very little contact patch.
