This is just as easy as using zip lock bags, and perhaps more cost effective in the long run. There's not much to learn here when it comes to operation. It works fine and is simple. When you look at how much bags cost for this and how much standard zip lock bags cost, this tends to be a slightly, and in some cases moderately, more expensive alternative. I have always wanted a vacuum foodsaver. The benefits of sealing foods are well known, but what was not known and came as a big surprise to me was the first time that I used it how loud it is. I NEVER thought that I would need OSHA Approved hearing devices to use a kitchen appliance. This thing is loud.
