the licorice is the kind I grew up with (on the west coast). There really is nothing like it. It is the right amount of molasses, and licorice flavor. It is the right "tooth" not too soft unlike the fancier ones. The only problem i had was it smelled like the plastic from the container. I had to transfer them into a metal container so they'd loose that plastic smell! Now it is a perfect BLACK licorice experience!
