Before I say anything else, let's get one thing clear right off the bat: do NOT rely on the majority of mainstream gaming reviews when trying to form an opinion on this game. After playing the game for a couple hours, it became clear to me that most media site reviewers didn't spend more than an hour, maybe two, before lazily writing the game off, as they so often are wont to do with Sonic games for the past half-decade.
