It is cast iron which needs to be seasoned but can effortlessly create toasty after toasty without worrying about overheating the teflon that is on the non-stick irons. Plus, being non-stick it can even be used over coals/firepit without the risk of melting the way aluminum ones do.The cast iron creates the perfect crisp exterior but practice is needed to adjust cooking heat and time to just how you like it.
