The people who wrote the description of this book took great stretch on it's content. It should be labeled as a biographyPERIOD. The few sketches are nice and often repeated. This is a total story of her life from birth to present. Not what was written and certainly not worth the money,total misnomer..

The most useful piece of advice I ever got was "Don't try to impress people. Just EXPRESS who you really are." Margrit Mondavi lives this. I'm grateful her friends and family urged her to compile this collection of her memories, sketches, watercolors, and family photos. It is a delight to look at, but even more fun to read.Margrit writes like she paints, in bright strokes of intense color that leave filling in the background to the reader's imagination. For example, her account of her first years in America as an army wife living in South Dakota, eagerly awaiting the bi-annual arrival of the Sears Catalog. What a contrast from growing up in a multilingual household, meters from Lago Maggiore, nestled against the Alps, with Italy only minutes away. Honest, lively, personal, inspiring,romantic, and interesting. I love her art and love of the arts. Women who pioneered simply by being themselves architect the most full and broad lives. Such a happy and positive way to start one's day - "What wonderful adventure will I have today?"
