I recently got a replacement for an earlier version because plastic 'gears' stripped and I could no longer use it. I loved that small appliance and in fact, found the complete set so useful that I dumped my mini food processor. The 'new' version (which interestingly, has same model number as the one I originally purchased - CSB-79) has a safety button on top of the stick. Why a safety is necessary on a stick blender is unclear to me but in any case, this means that it is nearly impossible to use stick with a single hand. With my prior version, it was possible to blend while moving/tilting container so that blender reached all contents. One of the great advantages of the stick blender is the ability to pulse in a stop/start manner. I wrote to Cuisinart to see if it was possible to disconnect the safety on this appliance and their answer was 'no'. So, for now, I've...Read more
Absolutely love this! Spent months researching immersion blenders, going back and forth between the top 5 rated models. Then discovered this 1.5 hp version. I couldn't find any reviews on this model anywhere, so was nervous to take the plunge. I wanted more than just another gadget to use for only for smoothies or sauces. My oh my! Had the chance to use all the attachments during Thanksgiving. Each one delivered as promised and made meal prep so much fun. Mashed potatoes? 90 seconds = perfection. Ditto butternut soup, Chopped onions, green peppers, blended batter for banana bread, whipped up fluffy eggs, even folded in whipped cream for mudslide pudding shots. A breeze to use and a dream to clean.
