As a practicing Pediatrician with 32 years of experience, I was looking for an inexpensive scale for use by new parents, especially those mothers that are breast feeding. I tested the scale against a set of weights that had been weighed on our 10 office scales (which show an overall variation of /- 1/2 oz. on a gross weight of 10 lbs (test points 2.5, 5.0, 7.5 and 10 lbs). The Salter scale performed within those tolerances. Unbelievable for such an inexpensive investment (our office scales cost around $350.00 each).
12/25/2013 The original scale has now served for almost a year in daily use in our office and has continued to perform flawlessly. Professional calibration has been performed along with the other (expensive) scales in our office and it has continued to maintain its accuracy and sensitivity. Outstanding value.
