Sheehy.Mr. Rowe's voice has been compared to everyone from Tom Waits to JohnnyCash, including Greg Brown, Leonard Cohen etc. There is even an element ofNick Cave in his balladry. His songwriting is as if Cohen and Waits hadan illegitimate son and grafted Tom Jones' voice box on him.This is my second album by Sean Rowe, the first being the exquisite Salesman AndThe Shark that moves from strength to strength--complete with the Surf Guitar endingto the song Downwind. Although all the strengths are intact on Madman, brilliant,deep lyrics and impassioned delivery I feel it is not quite as breathtaking as The Salesman& The Shark--it is still a million miles ahead of most singer/songwriter's fare and I stronglysuggest having it in one's collection.
