unlike most inkjet printers, the paper feeds in and comes out landscape. you can sort of see that in the product image. this is kind of nifty. the result is that it has a smaller footprint than you might think for a printer that can print 11x17. also, this is how they got the printer to do 11x17! which is super cool for kid school projects.
it does have an individual sheet feeder in the back. this feeder takes one page at a time. everything else loads from the paper tray underneath. the down side of this is that you can't use this printer to print a batch of envelopes or anything like that.
the ink color is just ok. so it's perfectly fine for day to day printing, but it's not great for photo prints.
