Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?) I will blame the cahange in the feel of the phone with the new case, but I dropped my phone as soon as I put the case on.... OOOPS! Good news, THE CASE WORKS! Not my preferred way of evaluating a new phone case, but it definately made an impact (haha). So, now that I knw the case will protect a phone I will say that it is cool looking too. It is not slippery to hold, which doesnt help explain me dropping it, but I havent dropped it other than that one time. It adds some bulk, but not so much it is uncomfortable to hold or akward for me to put the phone in my pocket (any more akward than it normally is). All of the buttons are easily accessable, not wierd changes to how I hold or use my phone.Overall, it is a great functional and attractive case. I can recomment it without hesitation.

   Arrived in their typical retail packaging, you get a good glimpse of the case under the clear cover of the front display. Otterbox refers to their new Symmetry Series as "balancing protection and style". I guess that's were a symmetry comes from, to give you the best of both worlds. Otterbox cases have their own unique style and selection of different colors, but they always put protection ahead of style as their #1 priority. With Symmetry they truly moved forward balancing both without sacrificing either one.The case has a slick dual layer molded design where inner shock absorbent rubber frame is fused with outer PC drop/scratch protection hard shell. Looks like Otterbox decided to reduce the weight of the case, and they switched off from using a denser honeycomb pattern found in other cases, but shock absorption is still decent. It then tried to include in its line some cases that weren't quite as protective, and therefore were less bulky, less expensive, and less costly to manufacture. This has had mixed results. For example, it introduced the Prefix, which I used until it completely fell apart in less than a year, as did its replacement; Otterbox quickly pulled that one off the market. I used the Otterbox Commuter for some time, and I liked its strong protection with less bulk than the Defender.The Symmetry case is an effort to make a case that's slimmer and lighter than, say, the Commuter while still offering reasonable protection. It does do that, using a hard plastic shell with a honeycombed softer inner frame that extends around the edge of the screen.
