We bought 16 of these walkie talkies for use in our after school program. They have been used every weekday for 4 hours per day for 6 months and all but 2 are non operational. I would say they are used moderately and only by staff. About 2 months in the antenna started to fall off and break. The black part would slide off leaving just the metal spring coil. I guess for the price, I should not be surprised that that failed so quickly. When they worked, they did have a decent range. I would say do not buy these if you are going to use them for more than a family vacation.
