Austrian artist, Anja Plaschg makes compelling music that suites those of us into the experimental nature bands such as, Xiu Xiu, Cat Power, Björk, Nico and Aphex Twin. There is a prevailing contemplative quality to her sound that provides brooding atmosphere with nicely shaped electronic embellishment.

Powerful album, each song is moving on its own, and together they are astounding. Plaschg certainly has a confident voice that amazes in this varied, well-crafted, and short but very re-playable album. I'm no music critic, and really not much of a music listener, and I'm not going to embarrass myself by declaring my love and gratitude for Soap&Skin's work at length, but if you have tastes that led you here, you should just listen!
