The late Sen. Robert C. Byrd represented my home state of West Virginia for many decades. While he and I would have been on the opposite side of "the aisle", I do admire many of his contributions to the nation, and especially to the State of West Virginia. Call it "pork barrel" if you will. I call it taking care of the people who sent him to Washington to represent them by creating jobs for them. Having said all that, I now want to say that I enjoyed Sen. Byrd's "Mountain Fiddler" a great deal! His "roots" shine through in the tunes he plays and the commentaries he offers on some of them. He displays good skills as a fiddler, and I felt that I could almost see him smile as he "went back home" through playing his fiddle. Sen. Byrd will be missed, not only in the political arena, but also in the ranks of true Mountain Fiddlers! Reviewed by Eunice M. Vincent, a.k.a. Mrs. David Vincent
