The StarTech.com MSTDP124DP DisplayPort to 4x DisplayPort Multi Stream Transport Hub works as advertised. I have four monitors attached to it, all are working fine with this product.

Setup was not as straightforward as suggested in the manual. After connecting the device (and the monitors) the PC should recognize all monitors after startup, however I had to reconnect some of the monitors a couple of times while the PC was running in order to get them recognized. It took me about 15 minutes and a couple of reboots in order to have the setup working.

Pro-Tip: if one of your monitors does not get recognized immediately on startup, disconnect the monitor, reboot, and reconnect the monitor while windows is running. If two monitors are not getting recognized, disconnect both, reboot, connect ONE of the missing monitors, reboot again, THEN connect the second missing monitor.

Please note that once windows has recognized all monitors it continues doing so,...Read more

Customer Video Review Length:: 10:33 Mins Startech was kind enough to let me review this accessory, and I must say it works quite well. While setting up for my review, I had the misfortune of having faulty DisplayPort cables, but the device works fine with some DisplayPort to DVI adapters I had lying around. I was a little disappointed that I couldn't drive 4 displays off the Surface Pro 3, 3 external the SP3, but that was probably pushing my luck. It was nice to be able to drive 3 big external displays though, all from the Surface Pro 3's single MiniDisplayPort; leaving my USB3 port open for other accessories, like my Ethernet adapter. My video shows two 3 display configurations I was able to put together at my office. In reality, the way I work is with the SP3 display, and 2 HD displays. I use the SP3 for testing the work I'm doing, while my other displays run Visual Studio, and a debug session. Overall, this adapter is a great productivity boost for my Surface Pro 3.
