Ok, I'll start this upfront with saying I am educated in engineering. But really there wasn't much super technical knowhow needed to make this thing into an AMAZING machine! I wish I could post pictures.

When it arrived, I had to re-aim the mirrors (it has a large laser in the back of the machine that basically bounces off of mirrors that move back and fourth like a printer head.) There are three of these mirrors and thankfully they already have little adjustment screws on them, so I put a piece of painters tape across each one and kept making MINOR adjustments until the beam was hitting the center of each mirror. After that, it created things with AMAZING precision and could dig a quarter inch into pine wood.

Next was the software. It is BAD. Like, kind of hilarious bad. But thats ok! As long as you have something you know how to use (I use photoshop and illustrator to create black and white silhouettes of what I want the thing to cut) then you can save...Read more
