Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 - 32-bit/x64
I'm a photographer and speaker and sooner or later I get around to trying everything I can to enhance my websites and talks I give. I've been impressed by PowerPoint presentations I've seen and finally gotten to try the program for myself. The 2010 product is what I've purchased and I can't make any comparisons to earlier versions as I haven't had the opportunity to use them. Prior to purchasing I had checked and found there might be problems if earlier versions weren't uninstalled first so although I had no earlier version I did have the viewer and decided to uninstall that. I'm using a reatively new PC with ample speed and storage and PowerPoint 2010 installed without difficulty. The product has worked flawlessly for me and not having read any books, or taken any lessons, I was able to construct a presentation, and a video of it, that I then emailed. I'm quite satisfied with the operation of PowerPoint 2010 but found the "Help" files to be considerably lacking. Because of this I've...

Don't get me wrong. If the product installs, it can be great. There are some new things that can make your presentation look as if Ken Burns created it. But getting to that point seems to be a matter of luck.I first installed this on my desktop computer at home. After having to tell the installation several times where the critical .msi files were, it installed. However, the finished product was unable to produce any special animations like the product I use at work does, and the program I use at work is the same PowerPoint 2010.I then uninstalled it and reinstalled PowerPoint 2003. While waiting for that reinstall, I used my second license on my laptop. That installation was almost seamless, again with a couple of cannot find .msi files messages. Fortunately, with enough insistant clicking, it eventually found everything it needed. The program worked beautifully on the laptop, so I went back to the desktop. This time, I instructed it to save my 2003...

After purchasing a new Dell desktop with Win 7 (64), I upgraded from Powerpoint 2007 to 2010. 2010 has some nice new features however, it crashes frequently. It usually saves and recovers the work but it is really annoying to have a crash so often. It sends information about the problem to Microsoft following each crash. I hope they'll provide an update to fix the bug soon. If the bug gets a fix, I'd rate it at 4 stars.Revised review: At the recommendation of another Powerpoint user, I disabled the "Send to Bluetooth" add-in app. I have had no crashes since. I revise my rating to 4 stars.
