The rollers stopped rolling, so I called Kitchen Aid who explained that they do not service these attachments and the warranty had expired (a warranty of merely one year for a piece of equipment made from several pounds of steel is frankly a bit suspicious).
Know this: after 12 short months of use, no matter what happens to the product, your only option is to throw it away and buy a new one.
With that understanding, I decided that there would be no harm in taking it apart to figure out what was wrong, and was SHOCKED by what I found...
Not only is this product difficult to fix, but it is very clearly DESIGNED TO FAIL. While I know this to be an issue with cheap appliances and electronics of all varieties, I did not expect it to be an issue with Kitchen Aid, nor did I expect it in a one hundred dollar accessory made from several pounds of steel, brass, and aluminum.
The issue is so substantial that I would be surprised if someone could even...Read more
I believe this is the least expensive of the KitchenAid attchments to make pasta. It does a great job rolling the pasta out, then I cut it with a knife into flat noodles. Followed Wheat Pasta recipe in book that came with it, looked too dry so I added an extra egg. If I were going to do it again, I would spend more and get the attachment that cuts the pasta into noodles, but for the lower price this will give you the experience of home made pasta. If you eat lot of pasta and will use the attachment frequently, go ahead and get the more expensive ones that do the work of cutting or extruding noodles of various shapes.

First, let me say that I have been making home made ravioli every New Years of my adult life. First with my grandmother, then I personally took over the tradition about 20 years ago. I normally have eager (hungry) family and friends around waiting to jump in and help me prepare the New Years Eve meal. Well, with my grandmother in her 90's, my parents not medically capable of standing on their feet for hours at a time now, I was facing New Years Eve meal preparation alone! The thought of doing all of that alone, struck fear in my heart! I did some research and found this attachment was available for the KitchenAid. So, a professional 600 series kitchenAid was ordered along with this attachment. Thank you Amazon for your same day delivery service.Let me start out by saying that this review could have gone either way. Like many other reviewers, I was ready to throw this attachment in the garbage about halfway through my first attempted use! Keep in mind, I have used...Read more
