Once I got it installed, the bulb works fine. The problem is that you have to physically manhandle it to get the assembly to slide into the bay...I mean you have to be a LOT rougher with it than one should ever be with something as delicate and expensive as a projector.

Part of the problem is that one of the screws that secure it into the bay is IN THE WRONG HOLE (held in by a plastic retaining washer). On each side there are two holes (four total). One hole is for an alignment peg to fit into, the other is for the screw. One of the screws was in the hole meant to be left empty so there was no way it could go all the way in even if it were and easy, smooth process... the screw bumped into the plastic alignment pin. After comparing the new housing with the old one I had removed I found the error, put the screw in the correct hole, and figured it would be easy sailing from that point forward.
