I have tested around 100 headsets and headphones for gaming and music. I can say that :A) gaming headsets are all flawed significantlyB) Audiophile quality isn't necessarily goodC) these are damn near perfect.I'll address point A first.Some people argue that 7.1 or 5.1 is absolutely necessary for gaming. This is simply not true. Most of the headsets that you buy with 7.1 are just 2 speakers with some software to simulate the surround sound. The games already do this if you set them to "binaural" or "headphones". This ends up functioning at leas 5x better, its is much more easy to pinpoint the footsteps of an enemy in an FPS. I have tested this out across the board with Battlefield, CoD, CSGO, and a few others. Additionally if you are playing on a console, they dont even support surround sound through the traditional audio outputs.
