Seasons on Earth (Vinyl)

   Meg Baird is simply the best female folk singer alive today and her newest LP Seasons of The Earth is wonderful. A few great covers and original maternal. Very low key but it's folk and done as folk should be. What a voice.....I am in love with this LP..

When listening to Meg Baird (Of the great band the Espers) you are reminded more of the natural talents that came out of the folk music movement 40 - 50 years ago, before production techniques and overproduction began to distract your attention from the power of a voice to mesmerize. Meg Baird conjures up equal parts Sandy Denny and Iris DeMint in her Celtic Americana, like a modern revival of the "Song Catcher" style. In another universe she would be on stage at Country/Folk concerts with Allison Krause and Emmylou Harris,and blowing Lady Antebellum out of the water at the Grammys.
