I have a new AirStream trailer and the Dometic refrigerator has a cooling chimney of sorts with access from outside. There is a lower vent door where cool air comes in and a higher vent door where the hot air is expected to exit with the help of a rather noisy fan that comes on when the cooling fins get hot. On our first outing, the fan noise nearly drove my wife and I nuts. I added rubber isolating gaskets to the fan, but that only dropped the noise by 40%. After looking on some AirStream forums, I found that many RVers where replacing their fans with this fan. I bought two of them, added the noise reducing resistor (included), and I now have better airflow using less power and there is no detectable noise at all. See the before and after pictures. A word of caution, the connectors on the various wires can come loose easily, especially when wrapped with electrical tape to protect the wires from the elements. I found out the hard way, so I eliminated all of the connectors when...Read more
