 | Author: Nicolas Garcia | I bought this book because I wanted to start developing for the PS Vita... and that's what it is all about. Some C# knowledge (or Java) would help you to start and this book will take you from that point to deploying your own apps/games on your PS Vita without wasting money (developers' tool and license are free right now!) or time. It doesn't get so heavy and practically covers everything on the PS (Controls, colors, sprites,...). On the other hand I think a second book would be helpful, or at least if you want to build your own best selling game! | 3 |
 | Author: diemer | The book does an excellent job of covering a wide range of topics like 2D, 3D, Physics, etc... But does so without a huge amount of depth. If you are looking for a full start to finish tutorial then you're kinda out of luck, as this is the only book about PSM. If, however, you are willing to put in some work learning how Sony's sample code works, this book will give you a great head start.I would recommend some object-oriented experience, as the book expects a bit of familiarity in the subject, though a thorough knowledge of C# is not necessarily required.All-in-all I'm quite pleased with this book, and would recommend it to anyone looking to get started learning the PSM framework. | 4 |
