Classic Nektar, October 9, 2011

Remember The Future. The album which jump-started me with the band who became my favorite band, starting in the 70s and right on thru the 80s. Sounds so good to hear it again, without the record noise. And the mix of other Nektar tunes on Disc 2 is a great bonus!

Unfortunately Nektar's music has been mishandled over the years, resulting in a number of substandard copies floating around, and few of which are decent representations of their musical vision. Right off the bat, I can tell the studio reproduction isn't stereo, it isn't remastered, and the overall sound quality is diminished to the point where this becomes a waste of money and a disappointment to any fan. As well, the "deluxe" material is an equally disappointing live recording that does little justice to the songs. It IS recorded in stereo, so there's that.In Amazon's Music section you will find a 2002 import CD of Remember The Future released by Bacillus Germany. It is brilliantly remastered, and brings this very fine album to life in a way this "deluxe" stinker can't touch. If you really like Remember The Future and respect the artist's vision, it's worth every penny to purchase the 2002 CD instead of this mess.
