This item works beautifully. The first time you plug it make sure to turn the lamp on first, then plug the unit into a socket 8 hours before you want the lamp to start dawning - set it and forget it. On weekends I just unplug the lamp cord but leave the device plugged into the wall socket then on Sunday night I plug the lamp back in and it always comes on exactly when I want it to. It's a very gradual dawning which for me is perfect.Note: I unplug the lamp cord on weekends because my lamp switch has multiple settings - if it was one that simply turned on/off I would just turn the lamp off instead.

Have been using for about 10 days now. Had high hopes, but, no expectations. Happily pleased with this. Very simple to use, does exactly as described. Will Purchasing another as a gift.

I have only had this product for about 2 weeks and I love it. I have a dedicated lamp just for my "sunrise." I would have preferred to get the model 308 ... because it has more functionality, but this is a great product still.
