This DVD covers the fine art of clawhammer banjoIf you are just learning the banjo, do not be put-off by the Level 3 rating of this DVD. This lesson picks up exactly where David Holt's "Getting Started on 5-String Banjo" leaves off. The instruction is excellent and clear. Learning these 9 pieces is fun and not too difficult, although playing them up to speed will take some time. I doubt that you would be able to find better banjo instruction than this. I also highly recommend David Holt's "Clawhammer Banjo #2".

The early quote by the instructor: "Now, I know you already know how to play clawhammer style..." was kind of a giveaway there.This DVD is for those who know the style but want to "shade" their renditions, or develop their own style of embellishment. I guess I'll save it for later, but I'm now looking for another DVD to help me get started. | 13 | |
