This 1 Star review only concerns the CD-R release and not the superior SHM-CD release!!!
I have been looking for this on CD for quite a while now and thought I had found it. While yes it is the debut album by Player and yes it did arrive on a CD -- it is NOT what I though I was purchasing! This is a copy of the MP3's (or equivalent) files that Amazon sells, burnt to a CD-R. Very poor quality resolution cover art. Open the booklet to nothing! No text, info or images. Low quality audio!
I did not expect this to happen as I had never heard of CD's being sold like this. Especially for $14
The reviews I read here refer to the great sound of the SHM-CD (which would be amazing sonically). But Japanese SHM-CD this is NOT! I ripped one of the songs and analyzed it with some audio tools that I have and the audio on this CD cuts off abruptly at 16,000 kHz - a sure sign of an MP3 source. Of coarse I already have MP3s of this music from when I actually owned the CD...Read more
I bought this album when it came out in 1977. I loved it. I bought the mp3 version and made a cd to listen to in the car. It's like visiting an old friend again. Brings back so many memories of a simpler time. Great music.
