   Let me start by saying that I LOVE my SodaStream machine. I have experimented a lot to figure out how many pumps are needed to get the right amount of carbonation at the least cost (comparable carbonation to store brands). I feel like 5-6 loud "honks" is my sweet spot but I probably prefer more bubbles than most people so you should probably start with 4. The way we use it, I am sure it ends up cheaper than buying bottles in the store and it certainly helps not having to lug boxes around. Also I do feel better about reusing the bottles so they don’t end up in landfills.Being able to customize our drinks is great for our family because each of us has very different tastes and opinions on what to drink, so much so that my wife and I have separate "His and Hers" bottles (picture attached) since we prefer very different drinks.So, thank you soda stream for helping me to get a great tasting carbonated beverage for a really good price. My husband and I got a SodaStream system for Christmas and we love it! We did the calculations for the cost of the CO2 and the syrups and it doesn't save us much money (if any) on canned drinks, but it saves us a TON of space and drastically reduces our waste.Anyway, my husband is an avid Mountain Dew (MD) drinker and he really likes the Fountain Mist (FM). He says it doesn't taste exactly like Mountain Dew, but it's close enough. So instead of drinking a few cans while he's playing games, he just whips up a liter of this and he's set, and our tiny apartment doesn't fill up with empty cans. We also like FM because it's reduced calorie. It's sweetened with sugar and Splenda, so an 8oz serving of FM is only 35 calories, while 8oz of MD is 110 calories. Soda Stream is awesome. Love it, and this flavour is great. Very much like Coke Zero. Here's the deal though. The mix on Amazon is WAY over priced, and I can't figure out why? You can get these same flavours in the same size for betweeen $5.00-$7.00 at any Bed Bath and Beyond store. Amazon and vendors want between $9-$14. I don't get it. Just go to the store and pick them up, or order them online at bed bath and beyond. ITs a shame as I buy everything from Amazon and would love to bundle my reorders of this stuff, but not for that type of markup.
