DB Electrical ADR0310 Mercury Alternator For 857006T 875285T1 881248T 889955, Mercury Optimax Racing 1999-2009, Mercury Marine Outboard 115Cxl 115Xl 135XL 150L 150Xl 175L 175Xl Optimax Saltwater (Automotive)

857006T......That is the part number given to me by my boat mechanic to replace the alternator on my '98 Mercury Optimax. So I order this unit because the numbers matched up. When I recieved the unit, I noticed the connector was completely different. I notified DB Electrical and they very promptly sent out a replacement based on the part number I pulled off the alternator itself 834832. While the connector was perfect, the alternator wouldn't mount to the motor due to being different dimensions. The unit overall was too short, the arm of one of the mounting holes was too long and the pulley was completely different. I again contacted DB Electrical and the offered a full refund. After dealing with this I decided to do some research and read alot of forums where I noticed people more often than not recommended finding a local shop to fix the original unit.
