The name says it all, Optima. PNY's top flight memory modules will boost system performance and look good doing it. The 2GB of PC2 5300 memory will add some zip to your system and keep it running as efficiently as possible. PNY memory upgrades will prove to be an outstanding value now and for a long time to come. Wile some (most?) computers needing 533MHz memory will accept this product, some older computers like my EMachines T5082 require 533MHz memory and only 533MHz DDR2 memory. Be forewarned: downwards compatibilty is not guaranteed.A call to PNY cleared this up for me. I sent this back and ordered PNY MD2048KD2-533 from Amazon instead.

Just remember that you might have to stagger the memory chips in the slots to make it work.E.g., If you have 4 memory slots and have 1 GB in the form of 2 512MB RAMs in adjacent slots, it won't work if you put these 2 1GB RAMs in the next 2 free slots. You have to remove one of the 512MB RAMs, put in a 1GB RAM in its slot and insert the 512MB RAM in the free slot next to it. You could put the remaining 1 GB RAM in the remaining slot. | 4 | |
