First of all - I have to say the support was excellent. Evan was the person helping me, and he was not satisfied until I was happy. I agree with the other reviewer that the documentation could use a little help, so I will try to augment their instructions with this review. Please pardon any errors on my part, I will edit the review if any are pointed out.

First of all - this is a 24v system. Sure you can hook it up to a single battery as 12v but as soon as you hook more batteries up in parallel (and generate more than 10A from your batteries) , you will burn out your controller. Start with 24v and you will be happier.

I am using 2x12v batteries in series to get me 24v - and hooking additional pairs in parallel to generate more amps. The system seems to like this fine.

My system came with 2 solar panels and only a single M4 pigtail - with male knew one end and remain on the other. I originally thought this to be used to connect the panels. Instead,...Read more

Great little system, This 400 watt wind generator is almost the same unit as the ones Menards sells for 5 hundred dollars by it self. Menards also sells a set of 3 solar cells that have a 45 watt output for another 4 hundred dollars, for a total of 9 hundreds dollars. This solar cell puts out 100 watts. So dollar for dollar and watt for watt this is clearly the system to get, and the charge controller can handle up to 300 watts, so you can still upgrade this unit up to 300 watts solar, so you can add 1 or 2 more of these cells and add in series later on. This company sells 2 more complete systems, a 600 watt system and a 700 watt system that use the same charge controller as this unit.
