My company at the time was involved in scientific computing and we hired many Ph.D.s for research and development that involved long hours working on UNIX workstations. My company later hired an ergonomics consultant who worked with each employee individually and we were allowed to pick whatever ergonomic furnishings and accessories appealed to us, ranging from uber-expensive ergonomic chairs to adjustable keyboard trays to footrests.
